Peter Nevland

From the desperately comic struggles of a redhead, to connections with people at death’s door, Peter Nevland unleashes his life with candor, hilarious wit and heart-changing passion. His wild and untamed performance style leaves people glued to their seats, jaws hanging loosely, wondering how one man can remember so many words.
On the surface it seems his professional training couldn’t clash more with the creativity and unfettered lifestyle that’s seen him invent a new performance genre called “Spoken Groove,” recording 7 albums and performing thousands of shows on 4 continents. But its exactly that duality as both a practical, left-brained, Motorola engineer with a Master’s degree from the University of Texas, and a right-brained, creative maniac, that makes his performance so powerful.
Peter has found a way to tread the razor edge between revolutionary and responsible role-model.
Audiences identify with his difficulties growing up as the “smart kid” at school or the challenges he faces as an artist living in a consumer culture, This gut wrenching vulnerability and authenticity resound as a unique message of hope and innocence that doesn’t wilt when faced with brokenness and loss.
“Being explosively creative doesn’t mean we don’t need families, honesty, trust and the kind of love that gives even when we don’t get what we want,” he says. “And good character isn’t a sentence to a life of complacency or boredom.” “I hope what I do on stage opens people’s eyes to life like they’ve never seen it.” “But if remembering me as that funny guy who looks and talks like Shaggy from Scooby Doo brings a smile to their face, I guess I’m ok with that.”
