December 13, 2011 by Jacob

Keith Ruckus is a spoken word artist from Austin, Texas. He has performed across the country in cities such as Philadelphia, OKC, Atlanta, Boston, Phoenix, Indianapolis, St. Paul and of course Austin. After completing his first national tour in the summer of 2010, Keith hosted the first (and only) “Green Awareness” slam at the 2010 National Poetry Slam. Keith co-founded the 2011 Austin Poetry “B-Sides” team which competed in the Southern Fried Poetry Slam, finishing in the top 10. Keith has since settled back in his current scene of Austin where he instigates both competitors and audience alike at the Austin Poetry Slam and Austin Neo Soul lounge. Keith loves playing Monopoly, the movies of Kevin Smith and gefilte fish. He has an indescribable hatred of power tools.

Keith has been published in self created chap books; “Revenge Under Consent -of the- King” in June of 2010 and “Jealousy & Jesters” in August of 2011. He has also been featured in electronic publications Borderline and The Legendary. Keith has featured on the Texas A&M college campus radio show in late 2010 and was a special guest on the nationally syndicated NPR program On Point in August of 2011 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Slam Poetry.
